At New Works, these questions are at the heart of our practice. Each year, as we reimagine the Residence ahead of 3daysofdesign, we are reminded that spaces are defined by the objects we put into them, by the tactile choices we make, and by how the sum of these decisions shapes the way we interact within them. It is in these details that mood and character emerge. The rooms within our Residence may be transformed through grand gestures, but it is the accumulation of small, deliberate choices that creates a whole, considered impression.
We spend the greater part of our lives indoors, and so the character of these spaces matters deeply. The details of a room - its textures, tones, and surfaces - work in harmony, often unnoticed yet deeply felt. They affect our state of mind, making a room feel calm or charged, intimate or expansive. A shift in texture can soften a corner; a tone of colour can alter the perception of light; the sheen of a finish can define whether a surface invites touch or resists it. Together, they are the vocabulary through which spaces speak to us, shaping not just a backdrop for living, but the very conditions that influence how we feel in our daily lives.

It was from this thought that our Material Library came to life, offering a closer encounter with CMF and the process of choosing. Tucked into the far end of our showroom, it gathers the full palette of our collection: textiles for upholstered furniture, tabletops in every finish, a complete presentation of our lamps, and a wide selection of furniture samples. Here, we guide our guests, from architects to design enthusiasts and homeowners, through different design choices and invite them to compare materials up close. The Material Library’s tactile experience makes possibilities and outcomes tangible, showcasing a generous selection we are proud to share.
